It’s all just a matter of personal preference whether you want to rent an apartment or buy a house. You probably think to live in a place without or less maintenance; then you should go for an apartment. You could be thinking of living in a place with a yard where your children can play with their dog. Even if you think of these advantages, there also sets of drawbacks you have to consider when choosing.
If space is your biggest concern, then it’s better to get a house rather a tiny apartment. As mentioned above, your house can feature a yard. Some apartments may offer yards, but still, houses are still larger where your pet can freely move or even place a trampoline for your kids to play.
The apartment may be small, but there are a lot of appliances and furniture that are wall-mounted or suited for apartments that help you maximize the space.
If you’re one of those people that love to invite people over or need to turn up the volume when the game is on, then living in the house is ideal for you. Doing these things in an apartment can annoy your neighbors because you share the same walls, not to mention the ceiling above you. See how long a neighbor will knock on your door to tell you to be quiet or threaten to call the police.
Even if you’re a quiet person living in an apartment, you still have to deal with neighbors that are noisy from the left or right wall, the ceiling above you or the ground below you. You’ll be the one who is the lousy neighbor that would knock on other people’s doors to tell them to keep quiet.
But an advantage you could have been in an apartment is you’re more safe and protected when the building is secured. You’ll have less chance of having a break-in.
It’s all up to your lifestyle and preferences. If you want to live with less maintenance and cheaper living, then rent an apartment. If you want to live with much bigger space but comes with a price, then go for a house. Consider first all the factors before making your biggest decision.
